We all have grown up in the times where telephone exchanges where commonplace. We grew up learning about telephone exchanges, telephone switching, telephone switchboard, operators and so on. We all were super familiar with regular switching terminology in the 1980s and 1990s and even till these days. Certainly, we have heard about these terms even if we were not really techy about it all.
Since the wireless technologies gained importance and popularity in today’s world and cell phones became an inseparable part of our lives, things have evolved to switches, switchboards, operators and switching centers for mobile networks which are the counterpart of the older telephone system. In order to manage the mobile or cell phone networks, we have the mobile switching centres commonly known as MSC.
